• Streambox Media Player (Local Play) 
  Live video can be streamed directly to the desktop of a computer with Streambox Media Player free software. Just press the “Local” button on an incoming live stream, and the video is automatically routed to the Streambox Media Player for viewing without the hassle of manual input. Local Play creates a simpler and faster way for users to play live streams on their desktop. This is a faster way to preview multiple live feeds before choosing to route them to a hardware decoder.

• Front Camera Support (iPhone 4)

• NTSC/PAL Format Selection 
  This feature simplifies the output of Streambox Live for European users and those who reside in other PAL countries. By capturing video in PAL, users will get better frame rate and resolution, while eliminating the need for format conversion.

GETTING STARTED

1. Download and install necessary software.
2. Sign up for a free trial of Streambox Live.
3. Receive an email confirming your Streambox Live account.
4. Go live or manage video.

HOW IT WORKS

1. The free Streambox Live encoding software can be downloaded to any laptop or mobile phone including iPhone 4, Samsung Intrepid, HTC HD2, Droid X, and these other supported devices
2. Once the software is downloaded, a connection to an IP network (Internet, Wifi, BGAN, 3G/4G, VSAT, Satellite, or WiMAX) must be present to send video. 
3. Sending live video with the Streambox Live encoder takes seconds to set up. All that is needed in the field is a camcorder, the laptop or phone running the encoding software, and a bandwidth IP connection. 

Video is uploaded to a cloud-based Streambox Live Server, there are many positioned throughout the world. By having many servers, it cuts down the distance the video needs to travel, thereby increasing the efficiency of the service. As video is captured and sent to the Streambox Live server it is instantaneously available for live streaming or archived for later use or viewing. Once video is in the Streambox Live Server, it may be accessed, downloaded, and decoded by anyone within the same organization or company as the user. The archived video on the server can be browsed and previewed, but the user only pays for video actually downloaded. 

The user can take advantage of the Streambox Live management tools that give easy access to live and archived video content. This enables the ability to store files on the server to edit at a later time for a file-based workflow. Additionally, Streambox Live users can have unlimited accounts, enabling them with the capability to manage their users by creating accounts with three different access levels: administrator, operator, and contributor. This feature will allow organizations or companies to control who accesses their video content.
