HD/SD QuickTime Encoder/Decoder/Transcoder for Windows

These toolsets consist of the ACT-L3™ Encoder and Decoder libraries for Quicktime, as well as the ACT-L3™ Transcoder. These libraries will permit video players and editors of the MOV filetype to play and edit ACT-L3™ video with full Streambox quality. A computer equipped with Quicktime and our Encoder libraries can convert other file-types to ACT-L3™ for use with our appliances. A computer equipped with the Decoder libraries can view and edit actl3.mov files as well converting to other video formats if need be.

The Encoder libraries are part of our proprietary codec, and require online authentication. The Decoder libraries may be freely distributed among computers belonging to our customers, so that viewing and editing actl3.mov files can be carried out on computers best suited to those tasks.

HD Quicktime Tools are for use with files created by the Streambox HD Encoders and Portable HD Encoder, supporting video resolutions up to 720p and 1080i.

Streambox HD Transcoder

The Streambox HD Transcoder is a command-line tool which will directly convert from a RAW actl3 file, such as those produced by our Encoder software or an Encoder appliance, into an actl3.mov file suitable for editing or playback on a computer equipped with the Decoder libraries. This Transcoder is suitable for integrating into other transcoding scripts so one may seamlessly add our codec to the library of codecs already in use. Also, the transcoder does not require authentication, and may be freely distributed among computers belonging to our customers.
