Maximum Maneuverability

Don’t let cellular dead zones hold you back. Link™ is a portable cellular bonding solution that can be placed in locations with optimal signal reception so camera crews can roam freely without concern for poor connectivity. This is achieved by connecting one or more Teradek H.264 encoders to Link’s a/b/g/n WiFi network. After receiving audio and video from the encoder, Link intelligently broadcasts the data over up to 6 aggregated cellular connections to a Sputnik* server in the cloud or at your station where the various video feeds are recombined into one cohesive stream that is then sent to an H.264 decoder or CDN of your choice.

Link takes a different approach to video transmission. Instead of carrying modems with you, Link is designed to operate similarly to a mobile hotspot. Simply place Link at a location with optimal signal strength, connect your Cube or Brik to Link’s WiFi network, and go live at up to 300 feet away. What’s better is that Link features Teradek’s Adaptive Internet Streaming technology, which dynamically adjusts video parameters in real time to ensure your content is delivered reliably and at the highest quality your connectivity can sustain.

Directly to the Web or Back to the Station

Whether you are streaming directly to the Web or over the Internet to your station, the Teradek Link can transmit video to nearly any platform, including the CDN or MPEG-TS decoder of your choice. When used over Ethernet with a ZiXi licensed Teradek Brik or Cube encoder, the combination provides a very powerful streaming solution for broadcast professionals.

Portable and Long Lasting

Link’s small size and low power consumption allows for easy placement and long run-times when paired with a V-Mount or Anton Bauer Gold-mount plate and battery. And if you need to swap power sources, Link’s internal rechargeable Li-Ion battery allows you to make the change without interrupting your live video feed.

Multi-Device Support

Not only does Link accept video feeds from multiple Teradek encoders, it also supports connections from other 802.11 enabled devices** for Internet access. This feature enables broadcasters to quickly publish edited multi-camera content via Link’s FTP capabilities over cellular bandwidth.

Adaptive Bit Rate Streaming

Link features Teradek's novel Adaptive Bit Rate Streaming (ABRS) technology, which dynamically adjusts the video bit rate and buffer of your stream in real time to adapt to varying network conditions. ABRS ensures that your content is delivered reliably and at the highest quality possible.

Adaptive Frame Rate Streaming

Link's Adaptive Frame Rate Streaming feature was designed to ensure that your live video reaches its destination at any cost. If cellular service at your location suddenly drops to levels that are too slow to transmit an HD quality video, the AFRS feature will begin to drop the frame rate until your content reaches its destination in tact. This feature is ideal for breaking news coverage where successful video transmission is imperative at any cost.

Sputnik Server

Sputnik is Teradek’s software interface between Link and your streaming destination. Sputnik is designed to run on a Linux computer either in the cloud (using Amazon’s EC2 services) or on a local server with a single, publicly addressable TCP port. Sputnik recombines the various video feeds from Link into a cohesive stream that can then be sent to an H.264 decoder or played back online.

Base: Turnkey Sputnik Server & Decoder

Base is an integrated link aggregation and H.264 decoding solution for video broadcasts transmitted over the Teradek Link or Bond. As an alternative to an Amazon EC2 instance or building your own Linux server, Base de-bonds and decodes your video feed from a single rack mount server with an HD-SDI output.

Stream Directly to Influxis

Streaming over multiple cellular networks directly to the Internet just got easier with Influxis' native integration of Teradek's Sputnik aggregation software. Instead of streaming to a Linux server in the cloud or back at the station, you can now transmit and display your live video feed directly on Influxis' servers for a seamless broadcast experience.

Dashboard

The Teradek Dashboard is a web GUI for monitoring the performance of your Link system. Dashboard displays the bit rate and latency per modem, total data usage, modem status, buffer length, and many other statistics to help you keep track of your streaming performance in real time.
