Product Overview +
Groundbreaking Anamorphic Zoom Performance
The ARRI AUWZ 19-36/T4.2 is a specialized anamorphic wide-angle zoom optic built to expand the compositional reach of high-end cinema capture. Engineered to seamlessly match the optical characteristics and color fidelity of the Master Anamorphic prime series, it delivers crisp resolution, flat field illumination, and zero geometric warping—even at its widest 19 mm setting.
Unprecedented Close-Up & Flare Characteristics
Capable of focusing down almost to its front element, the AUWZ enables dramatic anamorphic close-ups with expressive depth. Its custom optic design produces controlled, creamy highlight flares around strong light sources while maintaining high contrast across the rest of the frame. (Note: The optic renders an inverted image at the sensor plane, which is easily flipped in-camera via digital cinema sensor settings).
Production-Ready Metadata & Mechanics
Equipped with the ARRI Lens Data System (LDS), the AUWZ outputs accurate lens position data directly to camera systems and focus units. A fixed entrance pupil across the entire zoom range ensures consistent tracking and background perspective, making it ideal for visual effects plate shots, tight interior work, and large-scale architectural framing.
