Expand Your Lens Horizons with EF Mount Versatility
The ARRI EF Mount (LBUS) is a rugged, highly functional camera accessory designed to open up a vast universe of optical choices for professional cinema packages. By enabling the ALEXA Mini and ALEXA Mini LF to accept both high-end cine-style and consumer still-photo EF mount lenses, this mount offers budget-conscious productions and specialty cinematographers an affordable, highly creative alternative to PL glass without sacrificing modern digital integration.
Engineered for Large-Format and Super 35 Sensors
To extend the creative possibilities of EF-mount lenses into large-format cinematography, ARRI redesigned this mount with an optimized, wider light baffle. This custom structural engineering ensures that the light path from your favorite EF glass easily illuminates the large-format sensor of the ALEXA Mini LF while continuing to offer native, high-performance coverage on the Super 35 sensor of the ALEXA Mini.
Clean Rigging and Advanced Motor Connectivity via LBUS
Say goodbye to cluttered cable setups and bulky breakout boxes. The ARRI EF Mount (LBUS) features an integrated LBUS connector located directly on the housing of the mount. This port allows camera assistants to quickly connect and power external ARRI cforce lens motors with short, direct cables. This layout not only speeds up camera prep but also preserves valuable real estate on the camera body by freeing up the main EXT connector on both the ALEXA Mini and Mini LF.
Deep Electronic Control and Stabilization Support
When utilizing photography still lenses, the electronic contacts in the mount enable seamless camera communication. Operators can dial in precise iris settings directly from the camera interface or remote hand controllers. For high-speed telephoto setups, the mount passes auxiliary power to activate the internal optical image stabilization built into select EF lenses. Additionally, when using mechanical cine-style EF glass with external motors, the system displays and records lens metadata via the ARRI Lens Data Archive (LDA), ensuring perfect post-production synchronization.
