The ARRI M40 is a powerful 4,000 W / 2,500 W open-face HMI lamphead in ARRI’s renowned M-Series lineup. By incorporating patented MAX Technology reflector architecture, the M40 eliminates the need for heavy glass spread lenses while achieving an output roughly 30% brighter in spot position than the legacy ARRI AS40 PAR fixture. It provides a remarkably uniform beam spread that produces crisp, clean shadows across the entire beam angle.

Lens-Less Convenience & Intelligent Power Management

Focusing the M40 is effortless, adjusting seamlessly between an 18° tight spot and a 52° broad flood. For location flexibility, it accommodates both 4,000 W and 2,500 W single-ended HMI lamps. Equipped with ARRI’s Compensation for Cable Losses (CCL) system, the M40 maintains consistent, full-power lamp performance regardless of head cable length when paired with high-speed ballasts like the ARRI EB 2.5/4 kW.

Built for demanding film sets, broadcast studios, and field production, the M40 features a heavy-duty tubular steel yoke and twin disk-brake tilt locks designed to hold large softboxes, chimeras, and heavy barndoors steady. Its IP23-rated enclosure and cross-cooling heat management system ensure reliable operation in outdoor environments and at aggressive tilt angles.
