High-Performance Camera Control Over Immense Distances
When physical sets block standard radio frequencies, or when camera rigs operate in deep water, the NIA-1 acts as an unshakeable connection conduit. Crews can easily deploy two NIA-1 units back-to-back using a standard, long-distance Ethernet cable or fiber optic lines. Run command telemetry over 100 meters down a dive umbilical during marine shoots, or bypass studio walls during live, multi-cam live broadcast operations—all while maintaining direct, tactile control from your Hi-5 hand unit.
Intuitive Plug-and-Play Addressing with Custom Web UI Setup
Configuring the IP network is completely painless with ARRI's simplified network channels. By simply matching an alphabetical network channel letter on the high-contrast OLED screen, the NIA-1 automatically handles the underlying IP assignment. If an advanced production network requires custom subnets or unique settings, camera technicians can configure manual IP profiles using a standard web browser on a smartphone or laptop directly connected via the USB-C interface.
Specialized Integrations and Advanced Live Production Modes
The NIA-1 is optimized for specialized multicam workflows, supporting advanced operations on the ALEXA 35 Live - Multicam System by integrating alongside the system’s secondary Ethernet tunnel. The unit enables advanced camera controls on third-party digital cameras like the Sony BURANO and Blackmagic URSA Cine. It even operates in LBUS Tunnel mode to route two independent, parallel LBUS control chains over a single Ethernet line to let a 1st AC and remote DIT operate concurrently.
