Product Overview +
Centralized Wireless Architecture for High-End Cine Packages
The ARRI Radio Interface Adapter RIA-1 is a highly versatile hub designed to unlock the full potential of the Hi-5 ecosystem. Capable of acting as a wireless receiver, a transmitter, or a standalone motor controller, this compact module solves complex connectivity hurdles on multi-axis, multi-camera sets. By serving as a unified gateway for lens data, power, and telemetry, the RIA-1 gives camera assistants, operators, and DITs absolute flexibility over their wireless control layouts.
Multi-Territory Frequency Flexibility and Enhanced Range
Equipped to handle extreme radio interference, the RIA-1 natively supports ARRI's premium swappable radio modules, including the RF-EMIP, the high-performance RF-2400, and the RF-900. When operating in dense urban environments or heavily congested studio spaces, pairing the RIA-1 with the orange RF-2400 module boosts wireless stability and signal range. This ensures that critical lens files, camera control streams, and real-time settings sync instantaneously between your hand units and the camera motor rig without dropouts.
Deep Integration with Rangefinders and Third-Party Equipment
Through its dedicated SERIAL interface, the RIA-1 incorporates high-speed protocol communication designed to work flawlessly with industry-standard distance measurers, such as the Focusbug Cine RT, ARRI UDM-1, and Cine Tape Measure. This advanced synchronization passes seamless, real-time depth and distance readings directly into the Hi-5 menu framework. It allows camera technicians to maintain sharp focus during extreme close-ups, sweeping crane movements, or rapid panning shots.
Modular Expansion for Collaborative Set Workflows
The physical design of the RIA-1 emphasizes speed and on-set configuration freedom. With an integrated RX/TX switch, you can change the adapter’s roll on the fly. It links smoothly with LBUS devices, making it incredibly simple to pair with the Operator Control Unit OCU-1 or Master Grips. This specific integration enables specialized configurations where a Director of Photography or DIT can manipulate live iris levels and assign custom user functions from afar, while the 1st AC simultaneously manages primary focus on a separate, dedicated axis.
