Overview
The Blackmagic Design 2110 IP Converter 3x3G is a bidirectional broadcast converter designed to integrate conventional 3G-SDI equipment into SMPTE ST 2110 IP video systems. Its 10G Ethernet connection handles three separate video input channels and three video output channels simultaneously, each supporting video up to 1080p60.
Each of the three channels provides an independent SDI input and SDI output, allowing up to six separate SDI devices to be connected. The three SDI inputs also have dedicated loop outputs, making it possible to insert the converter into existing SDI signal paths without disrupting the original workflow.
Performance
The 10G Ethernet interface supports three input and three output video channels, with up to 16 channels of embedded audio and ancillary data. The RJ45 interface supports 10/100/1000/10G BASE-T and PoE+ power. Supported HD formats extend through 1080p60.
For SMPTE 2110 environments, the converter supports ST 2110-20 uncompressed video, ST 2110-21 traffic shaping, ST 2110-30 PCM audio and ST 2110-40 ancillary data. It also supports IEEE 1588-2008 PTP v2 with ST 2059-1/2059-2 timing, NMOS IS-04 discovery and registration, and NMOS IS-05 connection management.
Applications
The 2110 IP Converter 3x3G is suited to broadcast studios, production facilities, OB systems and other professional installations transitioning from conventional SDI infrastructure to SMPTE 2110 IP.
Its front panel includes six buttons, a spin knob and a 2.2-inch color LCD for device control, settings and monitoring of video, video standard, audio and timecode. IP sources can also be routed directly from the front panel.
