Overview
The Blackmagic Design 2110 IP Converter 4x12G PWR is a 1RU professional converter designed to integrate 12G-SDI broadcast equipment with SMPTE ST 2110 IP infrastructure. It incorporates four independent bidirectional 12G-SDI to SMPTE 2110 IP conversion channels, each using its own 10G RJ45 Ethernet connection.
The four 10G Ethernet connections can also supply PoE++ power to connected equipment such as compatible Blackmagic cameras and converters. A dedicated 12G-SDI main program input and loop output provide a convenient common program return path.
Performance
The converter provides five SDI inputs and five SDI outputs in total, comprising four independent video channels plus a dedicated main program input and loop output. It supports 270Mb, 1.5G, 3G, 6G and 12G-SDI, with automatic detection of SD, HD, Ultra HD and 4K formats.
Four 10Gb/s RJ45 PoE++ ports support 10/100/1000/10G BASE-T for SMPTE 2110 video input and output. Each SDI and ST 2110 IP path supports 16 channels of embedded audio. Blackmagic IP10 is used when transporting 12G-SDI data rates over 10G ST 2110 IP.
Applications
The 2110 IP Converter 4x12G PWR is designed for broadcast studios and live-production facilities transitioning between conventional SDI and SMPTE 2110 infrastructure. It can simultaneously convert 2110 IP to and from 12G-SDI while supplying power to as many as four compatible PoE devices.
A built-in control panel includes 12 buttons, a 2.2-inch color display and spin knob. Front-panel audio monitoring is provided through an integrated speaker and 6.35 mm headphone socket. Dual internal 100 to 240V AC power supplies provide redundancy.
