Product Overview +

Overview

The Blackmagic Design 2110 IP Mini IP to HDMI SFP is a compact monitoring converter for displaying SMPTE ST 2110 IP video and audio on HDMI monitors and televisions. Unlike the RJ45 version, this model uses an SFP socket for 10G optical fiber Ethernet, making it suitable for long-distance connections.

The SFP socket also accepts compatible 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI and 12G-SDI optical fiber modules, providing additional compatibility with conventional optical SDI infrastructure. The optical module itself is selected separately according to the required application.

Performance

The converter supports HDMI HD formats through 1080p60, Ultra HD through 2160p60 and DCI 4K through 4Kp60. HDMI video uses 4:2:2 color precision in YUV color space.

For IP workflows, it supports SMPTE ST 2110-20 uncompressed video, ST 2110-21 traffic shaping, ST 2110-30 PCM audio and ST 2110-40 ancillary data. It also supports IEEE 1588-2008 PTP v2 with ST 2059-1 and ST 2059-2 timing, NMOS IS-04 discovery and registration, and NMOS IS-05 connection management.

Applications

The Mini IP to HDMI SFP is designed for broadcast facilities, control rooms, studios and distributed monitoring systems where SMPTE 2110 video must travel over optical fiber before being displayed on an HDMI monitor.

Its compact enclosure allows installation behind a display, while the SFP architecture is particularly useful when monitoring points are located beyond practical copper Ethernet distances. It includes a 12V DC power supply.
