Overview
The Blackmagic Design 2110 IP SDI to HDMI 12G is a professional monitoring converter that converts either 12G-SDI or SMPTE ST 2110 IP video to HDMI. It supports SD, HD and Ultra HD standards and includes 3D LUT processing for accurate calibration of HDMI displays, making it particularly suitable for critical monitoring using modern televisions, projectors and professional displays.
The rack-mount converter provides one SDI input with a loop output, one HDMI 2.0 output and a 10G Ethernet interface for SMPTE 2110 IP video. It also includes a front-panel 2.2-inch color LCD for video, audio meters, status information and menu settings.
Performance
The converter supports SD, 1.5G, 3G, 6G and 12G-SDI, allowing it to handle formats ranging from standard definition through HD and Ultra HD. Its 10G Ethernet connection supports SMPTE ST 2110 IP video input and output, configuration and software updates.
Professional audio monitoring is built in. SMPTE 2110 and SDI support 16 channels of embedded audio, while HDMI provides 8-channel embedded audio. Two balanced analog audio outputs are available on 3-pin XLR connectors, along with a 6.35 mm headphone connection.
Applications
The Blackmagic 2110 IP SDI to HDMI 12G is designed for broadcast control rooms, studios, post-production facilities and SMPTE 2110 installations where SDI or IP video needs to be displayed on HDMI monitoring equipment.
Its 3D LUT capability is especially useful for calibrated monitoring, while the XLR monitoring outputs feature variable level and configurable delay to help maintain synchronization between external speakers and displays. The integrated LCD, speaker and headphone connection provide additional local monitoring directly from the converter.
