Overview

The Blackmagic Design 2110 IP UpDownCross 12G is a professional standards converter for converting between SD, HD and Ultra HD video formats using SMPTE ST 2110 IP, 12G-SDI and HDMI connections. It combines format conversion, IP integration and reference synchronization in a compact half-rack-width, 1RU design.

It provides one 12G-SDI input with a loop output, two 12G-SDI outputs, one HDMI 2.0 input and output, and a 10G Ethernet interface for SMPTE 2110 IP. A reference input enables built-in resynchronization for professional broadcast workflows.

Performance

The converter can transform SD, HD or Ultra HD video into another supported standard, with video support extending through Ultra HD 2160p60. Its multi-rate SDI interface supports SD, 1.5G, 3G, 6G and 12G-SDI.

The 12G-SDI connections include built-in resynchronization, while high-quality multi-tap video filters are used during conversion. Audio timing is automatically adjusted according to the conversion being performed so embedded audio remains synchronized with the converted video.

Applications

The 2110 IP UpDownCross 12G is suited to broadcast studios, live production, master control, OB systems and SMPTE 2110 installations where equipment operating with different resolutions, frame rates and connection standards must be integrated.

It can bridge conventional SDI and HDMI equipment with SMPTE 2110 IP infrastructure while simultaneously performing professional standards conversion. Blackmagic IP10 is supported for transporting 12G-SDI data rates over 10G SMPTE 2110 IP networks.
