Overview

The Blackmagic Design ATEM 4 M/E Constellation IP is a professional IP-based live production switcher designed for next-generation broadcast facilities and large-scale Ultra HD workflows. Unlike the SDI-based Constellation models, this version uses high-bandwidth 100GbE connectivity to transport professional video over IP using SMPTE ST 2110. The switcher provides 32 IP video inputs and 28 outputs with multiview capabilities.

Performance / Features

The ATEM 4 M/E Constellation IP provides standards conversion on all 32 inputs, allowing compatible sources operating at different formats and frame rates to be incorporated into the same production. Four 100GbE connections provide the high-bandwidth IP infrastructure required for large numbers of uncompressed video channels.

The switcher incorporates SMPTE ST 2110 connectivity together with SMPTE ST 2022-7 redundancy for resilient professional IP video transport. Its 4 M/E architecture also provides two SuperSource processors and a total of 12 DVEs for sophisticated multi-layer live productions.

Applications / Integration

The ATEM 4 M/E Constellation IP is designed for IP broadcast facilities, television studios, OB production, sports, live events and large production environments transitioning from conventional SDI infrastructure to SMPTE ST 2110. Its 100GbE architecture makes it particularly suitable for facilities requiring high channel density while reducing the amount of individual SDI cabling and routing infrastructure.
