Overview

The Blackmagic Design ATEM SDI is a compact professional live production switcher built around four standards-converted 3G-SDI inputs. Designed for professional cameras and SDI-based production environments, it combines broadcast switching, audio mixing, keying, transitions and USB webcam output in an easy-to-operate desktop system. It supports HD workflows up to 1080p60 with 10-bit 4:2:2 video.

Performance / Features

All four 3G-SDI inputs feature input resynchronization as well as frame-rate and format conversion, allowing different compatible HD sources to be integrated into the same production. The switcher provides two 3G-SDI program outputs and a USB-C webcam output. Production tools include a Fairlight audio mixer with EQ and dynamics, upstream and downstream keying, an advanced chroma keyer, DVE for picture-in-picture and transitions, and a media pool capable of storing 20 still images. Ethernet and USB-C provide connectivity for ATEM Software Control and compatible hardware control panels.

Applications / Integration

ATEM SDI is well suited to broadcast studios, corporate AV, houses of worship, education, conferences, live events and other multi-camera productions built around SDI cameras. The USB-C webcam output also allows the switched program to be recognized by compatible computers as a webcam source, making it useful for software-based streaming and conferencing workflows.
