Overview
The Blackmagic Design DeckLink Duo 2 Mini is a low-profile, multi-channel PCI Express capture and playback card equipped with four independent bidirectional 3G-SDI mini connections. Each connection can be configured independently for capture or playback, providing the functionality of four separate video I/O channels within a compact card.
It supports SD and HD formats up to 1080p60 and includes a dedicated reference input for synchronization with professional studio equipment. The low-profile form factor makes it particularly suitable for compact workstations and servers where installation space is limited.
Performance
DeckLink Duo 2 Mini supports video capture and playback up to 1080p60. It supports 8-bit and 10-bit YUV 4:2:2 across all modes, while RGB 4:4:4 operation is available according to format and operating mode. Each SDI connection also supports up to 16 channels of embedded 24-bit, 48 kHz audio.
Hardware processing provides real-time color-space conversion along with playback conversion between 720p and 1080p, SD-to-HD up conversion and HD-to-SD down conversion.
Applications
DeckLink Duo 2 Mini is suited to media playout systems, multi-screen digital signage, real-time multi-channel capture, broadcast automation and other professional applications requiring several independent SDI channels from one workstation. Blackmagic specifically positions the model for these multi-channel workflows.
Its combination of four independently configurable channels and a low-profile PCIe design also makes it useful for custom video servers and compact broadcast systems.
