Overview

The Blackmagic Design DeckLink IP HD Optical is a professional PCI Express capture and playback card for SMPTE 2110 broadcast infrastructures. Unlike the RJ45-based DeckLink IP HD, this model uses an SFP+ optical fiber Ethernet connection and includes a 10GBASE-LR optical module. It provides two simultaneous capture channels and two playback channels.

Performance

The single 10G optical connection supports two video inputs and two video outputs, with each channel operating at up to 1080p60 and carrying up to 16 embedded audio channels. Supported video formats include 525i, 625i, 720p, 1080i and 1080p through 60 fps.

It supports 8, 10 and 12-bit RGB 4:4:4 up to 1080p30 and 8 or 10-bit YUV 4:2:2. Supported color spaces include Rec. 601, Rec. 709 and Rec. 2020.

Applications

DeckLink IP HD Optical is designed for SMPTE 2110 broadcast studios, ingest and playout systems, graphics workstations, editing systems and other professional IP production environments where optical fiber connectivity is preferred for longer transmission distances.

It supports SMPTE ST 2110-20 uncompressed video, ST 2110-21 traffic shaping, ST 2110-30 PCM audio and ST 2110-40 ancillary data, together with PTP synchronization and NMOS discovery and connection management.
