Overview

The Blackmagic Design DeckLink Quad 2 is a professional multi-channel PCI Express capture and playback card featuring eight independent bidirectional 3G-SDI connections. Each connection can be independently configured for capture or playback, providing flexible combinations of up to eight SDI channels from a single card.

Designed for high-density video I/O, DeckLink Quad 2 supports SD and HD formats up to 1080p60. Its architecture effectively provides multiple independent capture and playback devices within one PCIe card, making it particularly useful for systems requiring several simultaneous video streams.

Performance

All eight 3G-SDI connections operate independently, allowing different video standards and content streams to be handled simultaneously. The card supports SD and HD video up to 1080p60, with up to 12-bit SDI support and 16 channels of embedded audio per SDI channel.

DeckLink Quad 2 uses a PCI Express 8-lane Gen 2 interface and supports professional uncompressed and compressed video workflows. Hardware-based real-time colorspace conversion is also supported.

Applications

DeckLink Quad 2 is designed for multi-channel broadcast ingest and playback, media playout servers, multi-screen digital signage, real-time processing systems, streaming environments and custom OEM video solutions. Its independent channel architecture allows a single workstation to handle multiple simultaneous SDI sources and destinations.

It is particularly suitable for developers and system integrators building custom video I/O systems because each of its eight SDI channels can function as an independent capture or playback channel.
