Overview
The Blackmagic Design DeckLink SDI 4K is a professional PCI Express capture and playback card featuring a multi-rate 6G-SDI input and output. It supports SD, HD, 2K, Ultra HD and DCI 4K workflows through a compact SDI-based interface, making it suitable for professional broadcast, editing and post-production systems.
In addition to SDI video I/O, DeckLink SDI 4K provides reference input and RS-422 deck control for integration with professional broadcast infrastructure and compatible tape decks.
Performance
DeckLink SDI 4K supports 10-bit video capture and playback with single-link 6G-SDI handling Ultra HD up to 3840 × 2160p30 and DCI 4K up to 4096 × 2160p25. It also supports HD and 2K formats, including 1080p up to 60 fps.
The card supports 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 workflows according to format and provides 16 channels of embedded SDI audio in HD, 2K and 4K, with 8 channels in SD. Hardware processing includes HD-to-SD down conversion, SD-to-HD up conversion and 720p/1080p cross conversion during playback.
Applications
DeckLink SDI 4K is designed for professional SDI-based video capture, playback, editing, broadcast graphics, color correction, compositing and post-production. Its multi-rate SDI architecture allows one workstation to operate across legacy SD and HD formats as well as 2K and 4K production environments.
Support for uncompressed video and professional codecs makes it suitable for workflows requiring high-quality acquisition and output for editing, keying, grading and broadcast applications.
