Product Overview +
Overview
The Blackmagic Design HyperDeck Extreme Control is a professional hardware deck controller designed to bring traditional broadcast VTR-style operation to HyperDeck and compatible RS-422 equipment. Eight RS-422 control outputs allow a single panel to control up to eight decks, including HyperDeck Extreme and compatible legacy broadcast decks.
Performance
The control surface provides familiar transport controls for record, play, stop, fast forward and rewind, together with a premium search dial supporting jog, shuttle and positioning operations. Dedicated recorder and player selection controls simplify operation when working with multiple decks.
A built-in editor enables deck-to-deck editing and legacy videotape ingest. Operators can select a player, define in and out points, select the destination recorder and execute an edit directly from the hardware panel. This makes the controller particularly useful for facilities migrating archival tape content into modern HyperDeck workflows.
Applications
HyperDeck Extreme Control is designed for broadcast studios, master control rooms, archive digitization, ingest suites and professional production facilities requiring tactile control of multiple recording and playback decks. It supports the industry-standard Sony control protocol and includes reference input and output for synchronized workflows.
