Overview

The Blackmagic Design Micro Converter BiDirectional SDI/HDMI 12G wPSU combines simultaneous SDI-to-HDMI and HDMI-to-SDI conversion in a compact professional converter. Each conversion direction can operate using a different SD, HD or Ultra HD video standard, effectively providing two converters within a single unit.

It features one 12G-SDI input and output plus one HDMI 2.0 input and output. SDI supports 270Mb, 1.5G, 3G, 6G and 12G rates with automatic detection of SD, HD, 2K, Ultra HD and 4K formats.

This wPSU package includes the universal power supply with international AC plug adapters. The converter itself has the same core functionality as the non-PSU version.

Performance

The converter supports SD and HD formats through 1080p60, 2K DCI through 60p, Ultra HD through 2160p60 and 4K DCI through 60p. SDI video connections support automatic multi-rate operation, while 3G-SDI Level A and B are automatically detected on input and user-selectable on output.

Video uses 4:2:2 YUV processing, and a 33-point LUT can be loaded using Blackmagic's software utility. SDI reclocking is also provided, with maximum power consumption specified at 5 W.

Applications

The Micro Converter BiDirectional SDI/HDMI 12G wPSU is suited to live production, broadcast facilities, studios, AV installations and portable production systems that need flexible integration between professional SDI and HDMI equipment.

Bidirectional conversion also supports Blackmagic Camera Control and tally, making the unit particularly useful for integrating compatible Blackmagic cameras with SDI-based production systems.
