Overview

The Blackmagic Design Micro Converter HDMI to SDI 3G wPSU is a compact broadcast-quality converter designed to connect HDMI cameras, computers and other HDMI sources to professional SDI equipment. It provides one full-size HDMI Type-A input and two SD, HD and 3G-SDI outputs, allowing the converted signal to feed two SDI destinations simultaneously.

This wPSU version includes a +5V universal power supply with international socket adapters. USB Type-C is also provided for power, configuration and software updates.

Performance

The converter supports NTSC and PAL SD formats plus professional HD standards including 720p, 1080i and 1080p through 60 fps. It also supports DCI 2K formats through 60p. The SDI outputs automatically switch between SD, HD and 3G-SDI according to the incoming video format.

For 3G-SDI operation, Level A or Level B output can be selected by the user. SDI reclocking is built in to maintain signal integrity, while video processing uses 10-bit 4:2:2.

Applications

The Micro Converter HDMI to SDI 3G wPSU is suitable for connecting HDMI cameras, computers and playback devices to professional SDI switchers, monitors, routers and other broadcast equipment.

Its two SDI outputs allow a single HDMI source to feed two destinations simultaneously, making it useful for live production, broadcast facilities, studios, AV installations and portable production systems. The included universal power supply is particularly convenient for permanent installations and production kits.
