Product Overview +

Overview

The Blackmagic Design Micro Converter SDI to HDMI 3G is a compact broadcast-quality converter designed for connecting professional SDI sources to HDMI monitors, televisions and projectors. It provides one SD/HD/3G-SDI input, one SDI loop output and a full-size HDMI Type-A output.

The converter automatically detects SD and HD signals and is powered and configured through USB Type-C. Its compact aluminum construction makes it suitable for both fixed installations and portable production environments.

Performance

Micro Converter SDI to HDMI 3G supports NTSC and PAL SD standards, 720p up to 60 fps and 1080 formats including progressive rates up to 1080p60. It also supports DCI 2K rates through 60p over SDI. SMPTE 259M, 292M, 296M, 424M and 425M compliance provides compatibility with professional SDI infrastructure.

A 17-point 3D LUT can be used for monitor calibration, and the LUT can be applied to both the HDMI output and SDI loop output. The converter automatically detects SD/HD/3G-SDI and converts the incoming signal to HDMI with embedded audio.

Applications

Micro Converter SDI to HDMI 3G is designed for professional monitoring applications where SDI cameras, switchers, routers or other broadcast sources need to connect to HDMI displays or projectors.

The SDI loop output allows the original signal to continue to additional SDI equipment while simultaneously feeding an HDMI display, making it useful for studios, live production, broadcast monitoring and portable production systems.
