Overview

The Blackmagic Design Mini Converter HDMI to SDI 6G is a professional converter designed to integrate HDMI video sources with SDI broadcast equipment. It features a full-size HDMI Type-A input and two SDI video outputs that automatically match the SD, HD or 6G-SDI format of the incoming HDMI signal.

In addition to HDMI embedded audio, the converter provides two channels of professional balanced analog audio input and two channels of AES/EBU digital audio input, allowing external audio to be embedded into the outgoing SDI signal.

Performance

Mini Converter HDMI to SDI 6G supports SD and HD formats through 1080p60, Ultra HD through 2160p30 and 4K DCI at 23.98p, 24p and 25p. It automatically detects SD, HD, 3G-SDI and 6G-SDI operation, while its SDI outputs are reclocked for reliable professional signal distribution.

The converter uses 4:2:2 SDI video sampling with YUV color space. HDMI supports YUV and RGB with 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 color precision. For 3G-SDI output, this model supports Level B.

Applications

The Mini Converter HDMI to SDI 6G is suited to broadcast facilities, live production, studios, post-production and professional AV systems that need to integrate HDMI cameras, computers or playback equipment into an SDI infrastructure.

Dual SDI outputs allow the converted signal to feed two SDI destinations, while independent analog and AES/EBU audio inputs make the unit useful for workflows requiring external professional audio to be embedded into the SDI signal.
