Overview

The Blackmagic Design Mini Converter SDI to Analog converts professional SD and HD-SDI signals to analog component, S-Video or NTSC/PAL composite video. It is designed for connecting SDI equipment to older analog monitors, decks and other legacy video hardware.

The converter provides a primary SDI input, an alternate SDI input for automatic failover and a reclocked SDI loop output. It also de-embeds audio to two channels of balanced analog audio or two channels of AES/EBU digital audio.

Performance

Mini Converter SDI to Analog supports SD and HD input formats up to 1080p30. SDI rates are 270Mb and 1.5G, with automatic multi-rate detection. Supported HD standards include 720p up to 60 fps, 1080i up to 60 fields per second, 1080PsF up to 30 fps and 1080p up to 30 fps.

A built-in HD-to-SD down converter allows HD SDI sources to be output in standard-definition analog formats such as S-Video and composite. SDI video uses 4:2:2 sampling with YUV color space, while embedded audio operates at 48 kHz and 24-bit.

Applications

The Mini Converter SDI to Analog is suited to broadcast facilities, studios, post-production systems and professional AV environments that still use analog video equipment. It provides a practical interface for integrating modern SDI sources with legacy component, S-Video and composite hardware.

Its redundant SDI input is also useful for installations requiring automatic source failover, while analog and AES/EBU audio outputs provide direct access to embedded SDI audio.
