Overview
The Blackmagic Design Mini Converter SDI to Audio 4K is a professional audio de-embedder that extracts audio from SDI video for connection to mixers, audio monitors, broadcast decks and other professional audio equipment. It can de-embed four channels of balanced analog audio or eight channels of balanced AES/EBU digital audio.
The converter provides a primary SD, HD or 6G-SDI input plus an alternate SDI input for redundancy. If the primary input is lost, the converter can automatically switch to the alternate input. A reclocked SDI loop output is also provided.
Performance
Mini Converter SDI to Audio 4K automatically detects SD, HD, 3G and 6G-SDI and supports formats from NTSC and PAL through 720p and 1080, 2K DCI, Ultra HD up to 2160p30 and 4K DCI up to 25p.
SDI video supports 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 sampling with YUV and RGB color spaces. Embedded SDI audio uses a 48 kHz, 24-bit television-standard sample rate. The converter consumes 5.52 W and operates from 12 to 31V DC.
Applications
The Mini Converter SDI to Audio 4K is designed for broadcast, live production, post-production and professional AV workflows where embedded SDI audio needs to be routed separately to audio equipment.
Its four balanced analog outputs are suitable for conventional professional audio systems, while eight-channel AES/EBU output provides higher channel capacity for digital audio workflows. Redundant SDI input switching also makes it suitable for installations where signal continuity is important.
