Product Overview +

Overview

The Blackmagic Design Mini Converter SDI to HDMI 6G is a professional converter for transforming SDI video into HDMI across SD, HD and Ultra HD formats. It provides a primary SD, HD or 6G-SDI input plus an alternate SDI input that automatically takes over if the main input signal is lost. A dedicated SDI loop output is also provided.

Along with HDMI video output, the converter can de-embed audio to two channels of balanced analog audio or two channels of AES/EBU digital audio. Blackmagic also incorporates features such as 3D LUTs and HDMI Instant Lock for professional monitoring workflows.

Performance

Mini Converter SDI to HDMI 6G automatically detects SD, HD and 6G-SDI signals. Supported formats range from PAL and NTSC through 720p and 1080 formats, 2K DCI, Ultra HD up to 2160p30 and 4K DCI up to 25p.

The converter supports 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 SDI video sampling with YUV and RGB color spaces. SDI audio operates at the television-standard 48 kHz, 24-bit sample rate, while built-in SDI reclocking helps maintain signal integrity.

Applications

The Mini Converter SDI to HDMI 6G is suited to broadcast monitoring, studios, live production, post-production and professional AV systems where SDI equipment must connect to HDMI displays.

Its built-in down conversion allows Ultra HD sources to be monitored on HD HDMI displays. The redundant SDI input is particularly valuable in professional installations where maintaining the monitoring signal after a primary SDI source failure is important.
