Overview

The Blackmagic Design MultiView 16 is a professional 16-channel multiviewer that allows up to 16 independent SDI sources to be monitored simultaneously on a single HD or Ultra HD display. Each input includes full frame re-synchronization, so SD, HD and Ultra HD sources with different formats and frame rates can be displayed together.

It provides 16 SDI inputs and 16 corresponding SDI outputs, together with dedicated SDI and HDMI multiview outputs. When connected to an Ultra HD display, the additional resolution allows each individual view to retain significantly greater image detail.

Performance

MultiView 16 supports 270Mb, 1.5G, 3G and 6G-SDI, with automatic detection of SD, HD and 6G-SDI independently on each input. This allows SD, HD and Ultra HD sources to be viewed simultaneously without requiring all connected equipment to operate in the same television standard.

Supported input formats include SD 525i59.94 and 625i50, HD formats through 1080p60, 2K DCI formats, Ultra HD through 2160p30 and 4K DCI 24p. Multiview output can be configured for HD or Ultra HD, with HDMI output adapting to the connected monitor's EDID.

Applications

MultiView 16 is designed for broadcast control rooms, production studios, OB facilities, master control, live events and other professional environments where many SDI feeds need to be monitored simultaneously.

Each view can display VU audio metering, while built-in source routing allows operators to determine which input appears in each view. Local controls include 16 source-routing buttons, menu controls and a color display. Ethernet control is also supported through Blackmagic Videohub software and compatible Blackmagic hardware control panels.
