Overview
The Blackmagic Design SmartScope Duo 4K combines two independent 8-inch monitoring displays with professional waveform monitoring in a compact 3RU rackmount unit. Each screen can independently display either video or a selected scope, allowing operators to monitor different combinations of pictures and technical measurement displays simultaneously.
The integrated scopes include luminance waveform, vectorscope, RGB parade, YUV parade, histogram, and audio phase and level displays. This eliminates the need for separate monitoring and waveform equipment in many broadcast and production environments.
Performance
SmartScope Duo 4K automatically switches between SD, HD and 6G-SDI signals and provides reclocked SDI loop-through outputs. It supports SD, HD and 2K formats as well as Ultra HD up to 2160p30.
The SDI interface supports 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 video sampling, YUV and RGB color spaces and 8-bit color precision. Embedded SDI audio supports 16 channels at a 48 kHz television sample rate.
Applications
SmartScope Duo 4K is designed for broadcast control rooms, live production, post-production, OB vehicles and other environments requiring compact rack-mounted picture and waveform monitoring.
Because each display operates independently, one screen can be used for picture monitoring while the other displays waveform, vectorscope or another measurement tool. Both screens can also be configured as scopes or conventional video monitors.
