Overview

The Blackmagic Design SmartView Duo combines two independent 8-inch LCD displays in a compact 3RU rackmount design. It is designed for SDI monitoring in broadcast, post-production and live production environments where two video sources need to be monitored within minimal rack space.

Each display operates independently and supports automatic detection of SD, HD and 3G-SDI signals. Ethernet connectivity allows the screens to be remotely configured, making the unit practical for installations with multiple monitoring positions.

Performance

SmartView Duo supports SD, HD and 2K formats, including 525i59.94 and 625i50, 720p up to 60 fps, 1080i and 1080p up to 60 fps, 1080PsF formats and 2K DCI up to 25p. The SDI interfaces automatically switch between SD, HD and 3G-SDI.

Each TFT active-matrix LCD has an 800 × 480 resolution, typical 500:1 contrast ratio, response time below 15 ms and 16.7-million-color display capability. The screens can also be rotated upside down to optimize viewing orientation.

Applications

SmartView Duo is suited to broadcast control rooms, production studios, OB systems, post-production facilities and live events where compact dual-channel SDI monitoring is required.

Its 3RU form factor allows two independent 8-inch displays to be installed in standard rack environments, while 10/100 Base-T Ethernet with loop-through enables centralized configuration.
