Overview

The Blackmagic Design StudioBridge 100G is a 1RU IP infrastructure solution designed to bridge a single 100G Ethernet SMPTE 2110 connection into a redundant dual 100G Ethernet broadcast system. It provides two 100G QSFP28 network connections and supports ST 2022-7 redundant delivery of IP streams across the two 100G network interfaces.

Two additional 100G QSFP28 camera connections allow high-bandwidth cameras to connect directly to the bridge. The camera connections can be combined as long as their total bandwidth remains within 100 Gb/s, allowing connection of one 100G URSA Cine or two URSA Cine Immersive / URSA Immersive feeds per 100G pair.

Performance

StudioBridge 100G also provides separate 10G connectivity for cameras and accessories, with two 10G SFP optical fiber connections and two 10G RJ45 connections. The 10G system supports up to eight Ultra HD or HD senders and receivers per 100G pair.

Each SMPTE ST 2110 IP video stream over the 100G and 10G Ethernet interfaces supports 16 channels of embedded audio. The system automatically detects HD, Ultra HD and 4K video standards.

Applications

StudioBridge 100G is designed for high-end SMPTE 2110 broadcast facilities using 100G Ethernet infrastructure. It is particularly suited to integrating high-bandwidth Blackmagic cameras such as URSA Cine 12K 100G and URSA Cine Immersive into redundant broadcast IP networks.

A separate 1G RJ45 control network connection handles NMOS control, configuration and software updates, while USB-C is provided for configuration and firmware updates. The front panel incorporates a 2.2-inch LCD for monitoring video, audio, video standard and timecode.
