Product Overview +
Overview
Blackmagic Design Teranex AV is a professional standards converter developed specifically for live events, AV installations, broadcast and post-production environments. It provides 1,089 real-time up, down, cross and standards conversions across SD, HD, 2K and Ultra HD formats up to 2160p60.
The unit combines professional 12G-SDI and quad SDI connectivity with HDMI 2.0 input, loop-through and output. It also provides analog and AES/EBU audio, optional optical fiber connectivity, reference input and output, Gigabit Ethernet and USB-C.
Performance
Teranex AV provides real-time up conversion, down conversion, cross conversion and standards conversion between SD, HD and Ultra HD. Its processing includes noise reduction, cadence detection and insertion/removal, scene-cut detection, color correction, proc amp control and hardware-based real-time colorspace conversion.
For applications where latency is critical, selected format conversions can operate with 2-frame latency. Teranex AV also incorporates a still store for logos and graphics, live freeze-frame functionality and an internal reference generator.
Video connectivity supports SDI data rates from 270 Mb/s through 1.5G, 3G, 6G and 12G-SDI. Supported Ultra HD standards extend through 2160p50, 2160p59.94 and 2160p60.
Applications
Teranex AV is designed for professional AV installations, live events, broadcast facilities and post-production workflows requiring reliable conversion between different video formats, resolutions and frame rates.
Its four quad-SDI outputs can operate as Quad Link or Quad HD Split outputs for Ultra HD workflows, making the converter particularly useful for Ultra HD video walls and multi-display installations. For other output formats, these connections can provide four replicated SDI outputs.
