Overview

The Blackmagic Design Teranex Mini 12G-SDI to Quad SDI converts a single 12G-SDI connection into Quad Link SDI, allowing modern 12G-SDI Ultra HD equipment to integrate with professional equipment that uses four SDI connections.

It can also separate an Ultra HD SDI signal into four HD SDI outputs, making it useful for video-wall installations using conventional HD displays.

Performance

The converter provides one auto-switching 12G-SDI input, four 3G-SDI outputs and one 12G-SDI loop output. It automatically switches between SD, HD, 2K and 4K formats and includes SDI reclocking.

Supported standards extend from SD and HD through 2K DCI, Ultra HD up to 2160p60 and DCI 4K up to 25p. It supports both Level A and Level B 3G-SDI equipment, with 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 video sampling and YUV/RGB color spaces.

Applications

Teranex Mini 12G-SDI to Quad SDI is suited to broadcast facilities, live production, post-production and professional AV systems where newer single-cable 12G-SDI infrastructure must interface with existing Quad Link SDI equipment.

Its ability to split Ultra HD into four HD outputs also makes it suitable for multi-display and video-wall applications. Configuration and software upgrades are available through USB and Ethernet.
