Overview

The Blackmagic Design Teranex Mini IP Video 12G is a bidirectional converter designed to transport professional SDI video over standard Ethernet networks. It can convert an incoming SDI signal to IP video for network distribution or convert IP video back to SDI at the receiving end.

The converter uses the low-latency TICO codec for broadcast-quality IP video transport. Its built-in Gigabit Ethernet connection supports HD video through 1080p60, while an optional 10G optical Ethernet SFP enables Ultra HD transport through 2160p60.

Performance

Teranex Mini IP Video 12G provides one 10-bit SDI input and two 10-bit SDI outputs supporting HD-SDI, 6G-SDI and 12G-SDI. It automatically detects HD, 6G and 12G-SDI signals, while all SDI outputs incorporate reclocking.

Supported formats include HD through 1080p60, 2K DCI, Ultra HD through 2160p60 and DCI 4K through 25p. The SDI interface supports 10-bit 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 sampling, with 4:4:4 available through DCI 4K 30p.

Applications

Teranex Mini IP Video 12G is designed for broadcast facilities, studios, venues and professional AV installations where SDI signals need to be distributed over existing Ethernet infrastructure.

Blackmagic Videohub software and compatible hardware control panels can be used to configure and route IP video, allowing network video sources and destinations to be switched in a workflow similar to conventional SDI routing.
