Product Overview +
Overview
The Blackmagic Design Teranex Mini SDI to Audio 12G is a professional audio de-embedder designed to extract audio from SDI video signals. It works with SD, HD, 2K and Ultra HD/4K SDI sources and provides several professional and consumer audio output formats.
It can output two channels of professional balanced analog audio through XLR, two channels of unbalanced analog line-level audio through RCA, or up to four channels of professional 110Ω balanced AES/EBU digital audio. Optical S/PDIF output is also available through a TOSLINK connector.
Performance
The converter incorporates one auto-switching 12G-SDI input and one 12G-SDI loop output. It automatically switches between SD, HD, 2K and 4K formats and supports SDI operation through 12G-SDI. Built-in reclocking is provided.
Supported formats include SD 525i59.94 and 625i50, HD formats through 1080p60, 2K DCI, Ultra HD through 2160p60 and 4K DCI through 25p. Embedded SDI audio support is 16 channels at the television-standard 48 kHz, 24-bit sampling rate.
Applications
Teranex Mini SDI to Audio 12G is suited to broadcast studios, live production, post-production and professional AV systems where audio embedded within an SDI feed needs to be routed separately to audio mixers, monitoring systems, recorders or other audio equipment.
Its combination of XLR, RCA and optical outputs makes it useful with both professional broadcast equipment and conventional audio hardware. The right XLR connector can also be configured to provide timecode output.
