Overview

The Blackmagic Design Teranex Mini SDI to DisplayPort 8K HDR is an advanced monitoring converter designed to connect professional SDI sources to DisplayPort monitors in HD, Ultra HD and 8K workflows up to 4320p60. It combines high-resolution conversion with HDR processing, professional scopes, 33-point 10-bit RGB LUTs and monitor calibration.

It provides two full-size DisplayPort outputs plus a USB-C DisplayPort connection. A single full-size DisplayPort can be used for 4K, while both DisplayPort connections operate together for uncompressed 8K monitoring. The USB-C DisplayPort connection supports compatible certified passive DisplayPort-over-USB-C cables.

Performance

Four 12G-SDI inputs automatically switch between HD, 2K, 4K and 8K formats, with dual-link and quad-link 12G-SDI available for 8K. Four 12G-SDI loop outputs are also provided, with support for 1.5G, 3G, 6G and 12G-SDI.

DisplayPort output supports HD through 1080p60, Ultra HD through 2160p60 and 8K through 4320p60. 5K and 6K display standards are determined from the connected DisplayPort monitor's EDID. DisplayPort output supports Rec. 709 and Rec. 2020 color spaces.

Applications

Teranex Mini SDI to DisplayPort 8K HDR is designed for professional broadcast, post-production, color grading, mastering and high-resolution monitoring applications. Its built-in scaler can adapt the source to the native resolution of the connected DisplayPort monitor, while pixel-by-pixel operation is available for viewing unscaled HD or 4K content.

Professional monitoring tools include waveform, RGB/YUV parade, vectorscope and histogram scopes. HDR output can be configured for SDR, HLG or PQ, while 33-point LUTs support monitoring and compatible display calibration workflows.
