Overview

The Blackmagic Design Teranex Mini SDI to HDMI 12G is a professional converter for connecting SDI video sources to HDMI displays and projectors. It accepts SD, HD, 2K, Ultra HD and 4K SDI signals and provides HDMI 2.0 output with support up to 2160p60.

An integrated down converter automatically selects an appropriate format when an Ultra HD source is connected to an HD HDMI display. This allows existing HD televisions and monitors to be used with higher-resolution SDI sources without requiring a separate standards converter.

Performance

The converter provides one auto-switching 12G-SDI input, one 12G-SDI loop output and one HDMI 2.0 Type A output. Multi-rate SDI operation supports 270Mb, 1.5G, 3G, 6G and 12G, with built-in SDI reclocking.

Video support extends from SD through HD, 2K DCI, Ultra HD up to 2160p60 and 4K DCI. A 33-point LUT can be loaded using the Teranex Utility for display calibration, creative looks and color-space conversion. HDMI Instant Lock helps provide clean switching when changing between sources using the same video format.

Applications

The Teranex Mini SDI to HDMI 12G is suited to broadcast studios, control rooms, post-production facilities, live production and professional AV systems where SDI equipment must feed HDMI televisions, monitors or projectors.

Professional audio de-embedding is built in, providing two channels of balanced analog audio or four channels of balanced AES/EBU digital audio through XLR connections. The right XLR can also be configured for timecode output.
