Overview

The Blackmagic Design Ultimatte 12 8K is a high-end real-time compositing processor designed for professional broadcast, film and virtual production. Its Quad Link 12G-SDI architecture provides full Ultimatte 12 processing across HD, Ultra HD and native 8K workflows, with support for resolutions up to 4320p60.

Performance

Ultimatte 12 8K uses advanced algorithms and color science for precise edge handling, color separation, color fidelity and spill suppression. Sub-pixel processing helps preserve fine image details when combining live-action subjects with virtual sets, graphics and other background elements.

The processor provides 32 SDI video inputs, 20 SDI video outputs and 20 reclocked SDI loop outputs. Its multi-rate SDI architecture supports 270Mb, 1.5G, 3G, 6G and 12G-SDI, with automatic input resynchronization.
