Overview

The Blackmagic Design UltraStudio 4K Extreme 3 is a high-end professional capture and playback solution designed for broadcast, post-production, live production and digital cinema workflows. Its extensive analog and digital connectivity allows integration with professional cameras, decks, routers, monitors and other production equipment.

Performance

UltraStudio 4K Extreme 3 combines multi-rate 12G-SDI with HDMI 2.0 for SD, HD, 2K, Ultra HD and 4K production. It supports workflows up to 60 fps along with deep color, 12-bit RGB and HDR support through HDMI 2.0a.

The unit provides 2 × 12G-SDI and 2 × 6G-SDI inputs, corresponding SDI outputs and loop connections, plus HDMI 2.0 input and output. Optional optical-fiber modules can also provide 12G-SDI optical connectivity.

Applications

UltraStudio 4K Extreme 3 is suited to professional video editing, color grading, visual effects, broadcast ingest, live capture, mastering and HDR monitoring. Its built-in hardware H.265 encoder enables real-time H.265 capture, while Thunderbolt 3 and PCI Express connectivity provide high-bandwidth computer integration.
