The Blackmagic Design UltraStudio Express Monitor 3G is an ultra-compact professional playback device designed to output broadcast-quality video from a computer to SDI or HDMI displays. It connects to compatible Mac, Windows and Linux computers through a high-speed USB-C interface supporting USB4 and Thunderbolt 4 workflows.

Performance

UltraStudio Express Monitor 3G provides one switchable 10-bit SD/HD 3G-SDI output and one HDMI 2.0 output. It supports SD and HD video standards up to 1080p60, with SDI data rates of 270Mb, 1.5G and 3G.

The device supports 16 channels of embedded SDI audio and 8 channels of embedded HDMI audio. Its 40Gbps USB-C computer interface provides the bandwidth required for professional video playback from compatible editing and broadcast graphics applications.

Applications

UltraStudio Express Monitor 3G is ideal for professional editing, color grading, broadcast graphics and post-production environments where video needs to be monitored on an external SDI or HDMI display. Blackmagic specifically supports workflows with applications such as DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid Media Composer.
