Overview

The Blackmagic Design Micro Converter SDI to HDMI 12G is a compact broadcast-quality converter designed to connect professional SDI sources to HDMI monitors, televisions and projectors. It features one 12G-SDI input, one SDI loop output and one full-size HDMI 2.0 Type-A output.

The converter automatically detects SD, HD, 2K DCI, Ultra HD and 4K DCI signals and supports SDI rates from 270 Mb/s through 1.5G, 3G, 6G and 12G. Power, configuration and firmware updates are handled through USB Type-C.

Performance

Micro Converter SDI to HDMI 12G supports professional video formats ranging from NTSC and PAL through 720p, 1080p, 1080PsF, 1080i, 2K DCI and Ultra HD up to 2160p60. It also handles 4K DCI formats up to 60 fps.

A 33-point 3D LUT can be loaded using the Blackmagic software utility for monitor calibration or creative color adjustment. The converter uses 4:2:2 YUV processing and automatically detects Level A or Level B 3G-SDI signals.

Applications

Designed primarily for professional monitoring, the converter allows SDI cameras, switchers, routers and other broadcast equipment to feed HDMI displays and projectors. The dedicated SDI loop output also allows the incoming SDI signal to continue to additional equipment while simultaneously providing HDMI monitoring.

Its compact construction and USB-C power capability make it particularly useful for studios, live production systems, OB environments, equipment racks and portable production setups.
