Precision RF Signal Routing for Modern Wireless Ecosystems
The Canare 50-Ohm Coaxial Cable series offers an advanced engineering solution for high-frequency infrastructure, operating as a specialized video and RF data cable designed to connect antennas, wireless microphone receivers, in-ear monitor transmitters, and telecom nodes. In broadcast studio environments and large live performance venues, running standard 75-ohm video cables for RF applications can lead to serious impedance mismatches, signal reflections, and severe drops in transmission range. Canare's 50-ohm lines solve this issue by offering a clean, stable path for radio frequency signals.
Multi-Tiered Isolation Against Studio RF Contamination
To keep your signal clean as it passes through modern, frequency-heavy production environments, these cables are built with an advanced multi-layered shield layout. The basic L-3D2V and L-5D2V lines use a tight tinned copper braided shield to ground out everyday electrical noise. For environments with high RF interference, the L-3D2W and L-5D2W models use a tinned copper double-braided shield system to deliver up to 98% coverage. This dual-shield layout provides top-tier attenuation against nearby interchannel bleed and cellular network hum.
Specialized Core Frameworks for Studio Patches and Tower Pulls
To deliver reliable signal tracking across varying field conditions, this high-frequency RF product family is split into task-specific sub-series:
- L-3D Class Miniature Control Strings (5.3mm - 6.4mm O.D.): Available in single or double-shield formats. These compact, flexible runs are an excellent match for wireless receiver rack interconnects, internal equipment wiring, and tight patch bay builds.
- L-5D Class Low-Attenuation Master Lines (7.3mm - 8.0mm O.D.): Built around massive solid copper center cores (up to 14 AWG equivalent in the L-5DFB series). These lines lower overall DC loop resistance ($0.7\text{ }\Omega\text{/100m}$), making them the top choice for extra-long cable runs up to rooftop antenna masts or across large outdoor venues.
