Precision Inline Signal Extensions for Dynamic Broadcast Workflows
The Canare BCJ 75-Ohm BNC Female Jack Plug series provides an advanced inline connectivity solution, operating as a specialized female RF cable connector engineered for creating high-performance extension cords, field repairs, and custom link patches within digital broadcast video networks. Unlike traditional male BNC plugs that interface directly with equipment panels, these jack plugs feature a female mating interface. This layout allows engineers, technicians, and riggers to connect multiple short coaxial runs together on the fly, eliminating the signal degradation often caused by loose, low-grade barrel adapters.
High-Elasticity Beryllium Contacts for Signal Continuity
To maintain clean, bit-accurate video transmission in high-vibration mobile environments, this inline series relies on gold-plated beryllium copper contacts. Swapping standard rigid metals for a high-flexibility beryllium copper alloy allows the internal socket fingers to grasp the mating male pin with consistent physical pressure over years of service. This steady grip keeps contact resistance low and prevents high-frequency packet reflection, even during intense cable pulling or floor vibration on busy production sets.
Crucial Assembly Note: To verify proper characteristic performance and meet certified return loss standards, these connectors must be assembled using official Canare crimp tools and matching die sets. For the legacy BCJ-C4 series, note that the center pin requires a traditional solder-melt connection, while the outer shield uses a standard crimp sleeve.
Tailored Product Classifications for UHD 12G and Legacy Infrastructures
This inline extension series is divided into two distinct configurations to help engineers choose the exact performance level needed for their project layout:
- BCJ-D Next-Gen 12G-SDI Crimp Class: Engineered for uncompressed 4K Ultra HD video infrastructure. This tier uses full crimp termination for both the center pin and sleeve. It pairs perfectly with modern high-frequency solid-core and mobile stranded cables (such as Canare L-2.5CHD, L-2.5CHWS, and L-3.3CUHD).
- BCJ-C4 Standard SDI Solder/Crimp Hybrid Class: The industry workhorse for standard digital video and analog distribution lines. This configuration features a solder-type center socket paired with a crimp-on grounding sleeve, designed to fit legacy 75-ohm coaxial runs (such as RG-59 B/U, Canare LV-61S, Belden 8241, and Belden 8279). Please note that the BCJ-C4 model does not support high-frequency 12G-SDI signals.
