The Canare BCJ-MCVP 75-Ohm 12G-SDI Micro Video Conversion Adapter provides a highly reliable mechanical and electrical bridge between standard video infrastructure and modern, high-density patch bays. As television networks, master control rooms, and mobile production trucks upgrade to compact micro-scale routing setups, integrating existing standard BNC test leads and custom cable runs can be a challenge. The BCJ-MCVP solves this problem by adapting a standard full-size female BNC connector into a specialized male micro video patch plug.

Unlike lower-grade adapters that introduce signal degradation, jitter, or impedance mismatching, the BCJ-MCVP is precision-engineered to maintain a true 75-ohm transmission path. It delivers excellent return loss across all broadcast frequencies: achieving $\ge$ 26 dB up to 3 GHz for standard HD-SDI, $\ge$ 15 dB up to 6 GHz, and maintaining a robust $\ge$ 10 dB at 12 GHz. This exceptional frequency response ensures that your critical 4K UHD uncompressed video streams pass through the conversion joint without introducing pixelation or errors.
Critical Space and Stacking Guidelines
Because full-size standard BNC cable connectors require a wider physical footprint than micro patchbay ports, engineers must follow proper layout spacing when using this rigid adapter. Due to the wider outer diameter of standard BNC barrels, the BCJ-MCVP units cannot be plugged directly into adjacent ports (side-by-side or stacked vertically) at the same time.
