Product Overview +

SDI Over Your Existing Camera Cable

The Canare FCBA turns a standard hybrid fiber-optic (HFO) camera cable into a two-channel SDI fiber link. One unit sits at each end of the cable, carrying one 3G-SDI signal out and one back, so OB vans, stadiums and studios can send program returns and extra feeds over the SMPTE camera cable runs they already have.

All-in-One Field Unit

Each FCBA combines an EO (transmit) module, an OE (receive) module and a power supply in a 210 x 42 x 240 mm chassis weighing about 1.2 kg. It handles 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, SD-SDI and DVB-ASI on 75-ohm BNC connectors, and the EO/OE modules can be swapped to change the configuration. Note that the HFO cable's power conductors are not used: the FCBA has its own AC (3-pin) and DC (XLR4) inputs with automatic redundancy.

Choosing a Model

FF/FM versions use the Canare FC series connector (SMPTE 304 / ARIB); OF/OM versions use the OC series (Hybrid-OPS). Female (FF/OF) and male (FM/OM) units pair up at opposite ends of the camera cable. The -PV models add an IDX V-mount battery plate for cable-free power on location; rack-mount brackets are available.
