Effective Ground Loop and Interference Mitigation
The Canare IU-7/16 Series Insulation Bushing is a vital system component engineered to isolate chassis-mounted connectors from conductive metal enclosures. In high-density broadcast facilities, production flypacks, and live audio racks, direct contact between a connector’s outer shield ground and a common steel rack frame frequently introduces dangerous ground loops, hum, and electromagnetic interference (EMI). By enveloping the connector body in this non-conductive ABS plastic shield, the IU-7/16 breaks this electrical path, ensuring clean signal transmission across your video, audio, and RF lines.
Intelligent Two-Piece Expandable Engineering
Unlike rigid, one-piece terminal rings that only function with thin sheet metal, the IU-7/16 utilizes a flexible two-piece interlocking construction. This design scales effortlessly to accommodate varying mounting surface depths. When installing standard BNC, RCA, or F-type bulkheads, the expandable bushings slide cleanly into the panel hole from opposite sides, meeting in the middle to create a seamless protective barrier that prevents shifting or physical vibration.
Broad Multi-Format Connector Mapping
The IU-7/16 is factory-calibrated to interface with Canare’s professional bulkhead terminal series. Depending on the connector base selected, the bushing adjusts to two major thickness zones: tight 1.2–1.5 mm mounting profiles (such as the BCJ-DCJ or 12G-SDI BCJ-FPLV lines) and deeper 1.2–3.0 mm configurations (such as the BJ-JR or FJ-JR pass-through jacks). This flexibility allows technicians to standardize on a single insulation part number across diverse video and RF routing panels.
