Product Overview +
Audinate Dante AV-H Native Integration
The Bolin EG40DH is a professional, broadcast-grade hardware IP video decoder designed to seamlessly bridge networked Dante ecosystems with legacy baseband studio environments. As a fully certified Audinate Dante AV-H endpoint, the device features native device discovery, routing configuration, and clock synchronization managed through standard Dante Controller software. This deep integration allows video networks to merge directly with standard Dante audio configurations over traditional 1Gbps IT networks, making it an excellent processing engine for high-end corporate campuses, higher education classrooms, distributed houses of worship, and professional live events.
Flexible Tri-Codec Environment Processing
At the heart of the EG40DH is a high-performance, FPGA-based hardware decoding platform built on a flexible multi-codec runtime environment. When connected within an active Dante matrix, the core delivers ultra-low-latency, perfectly synchronized Dante AV-H video streams up to 4K60 resolution. For mixed-source setups, the hardware automatically switches modes to decode standard H.265 (HEVC) or H.264 (AVC) compressed IP streams coming from third-party SoC-driven network cameras. When paired with Bolin's dedicated EDGE Series transceivers, it unlocks a high-performance FAST HEVC decoding profile, ensuring ultra-low phase latency and low-bandwidth transport across the local area network.
Multi-Protocol Gateway and Seamless Source Switching
Beyond its deep integration into the Dante ecosystem, the EG40DH acts as a versatile multi-protocol IP translation box. The internal hardware engine accepts incoming network video layers distributed over secure SRT, open RTSP, encrypted RTMP/RTMPS, and raw MPEG-TS streams. While its dedicated processing chips concentrate full computing power on a single crisp network channel at any given moment, the onboard database caches up to 64 virtual network source URLs as presets. This framework allows technical directors or control room operators to instantly select and switch between a wide pool of live remote cameras, corporate encoders, or network transceivers.
Hardware Cross-Conversion Scaling and Functional Design
On the physical infrastructure layer, the EG40DH provides true dual-output performance, simultaneously driving local monitors, multi-viewers, or production switchers through an independent 12G-SDI BNC terminal and a native HDMI 2.0 interface. The outputs feature a powerful built-in hardware scaling engine, allowing the unit to upscale lower-resolution 720p or 1080i/p feeds up to a polished 3840 x 2160p60 container, or downscale high-bandwidth 4K video lines down to match standard 3G/HD-SDI monitoring loops. Fully NDAA compliant, the decoder is housed in a compact, rugged enclosure that supports single, dual, or tri-unit rackmount systems along with industrial DIN rail options. It runs on standard IEEE 802.3at PoE+ power lines to streamline cable management, offers a 12VDC auxiliary power loop, and integrates on-screen character generation.
