Certified NDI 6 Core and High Bandwidth Extraction
The Bolin EG40N 4K60 NDI Decoder is an officially certified, hardware-driven conversion node engineered to translate multi-tier IP media ecosystems into professional baseband studio video. Fully aligned with next-generation NDI 6 standards, the device is optimized to ingest uncompressed, broadcast-tier NDI High Bandwidth streams alongside highly efficient NDI HX3 feeds directly over local network fabrics. By utilizing hardware-accelerated decoding pipelines rather than fragile software architectures, the EG40N extracts 3840 x 2160 Ultra HD video at a fluid 60 frames per second with exceptional, lossless color accuracy and ultra-low phase latency. This makes it an essential engine for live broadcast control rooms, remote production trucks, high-end virtual studios, and multi-camera live switching arrays.
Global WAN Workflows via NDI Embedded Bridge
Built to remove structural geographic constraints in modern distributed broadcasting, the EG40N features integrated NDI Embedded Bridge technology. This internal operational mode allows the decoder to serve as a secure cross-network gateway, receiving or transmitting encrypted NDI streams across wide area networks (WAN) from any remote point worldwide. Because the routing logic runs locally inside the chip, production crews can coordinate complex multi-venue remote operations and regional television contribution links without deploying external field encoders, complex local servers, or expensive VPN tunneling hardware. Pre-configuration can be completed entirely ahead of time for true plug-and-play field implementation.
Multi-Protocol Versatility and Expanded Source Routing
Beyond its deep integration into the NDI ecosystem, the EG40N functions as a versatile multi-protocol IP translation box. The FPGA-driven decoding core maintains full native compatibility with standard compressed H.265 (HEVC) and H.264 (AVC) network streams. It processes incoming transport layers over secure SRT (Caller/Listener modes), open RTSP, encrypted RTMP/RTMPS, and raw MPEG-TS over UDP. While the internal processing core focuses its dedicated performance to decode a single crisp channel at a time, the onboard management matrix stores up to 64 virtual IP source URLs as presets. This layout permits operators in active control facilities to quickly switch and preview separate camera angles, field encoders, or live remote transceivers on the fly.
Hardware Scaling Engine and Flexible Studio Architecture
On the physical layer, the EG40N provides true dual-output performance, simultaneously driving local broadcast infrastructure via an independent 12G-SDI BNC terminal and a native HDMI 2.0 interface with embedded digital audio. The outputs are routed through a powerful internal hardware scaling engine, allowing the device to independently upscale incoming 720p or 1080i/p video lines up to a polished 4K60 container, or downscale high-resolution UHD feeds to match existing 3G/HD-SDI monitoring loops. The compact, ruggedized enclosure is tailored for clean implementation across dense equipment arrays, supporting single, dual, or tri-unit rackmount shelves as well as industrial DIN rail options. Fully NDAA compliant, the decoder runs on standard IEEE 802.3at PoE+ power lines to streamline cable management, while offering a 12VDC auxiliary power port and integrated on-screen character generation.
