The Evertz 3400CWDM Series Coarse WDM Optical Modules provide a high-density, passive solution for expanding signal capacity over single-mode fiber infrastructures. Compliant with the ITU-T G.694.2 standard, these modules enable bi-directional multiplexing and demultiplexing across the 1270nm to 1610nm optical spectrum. By combining up to 16 discrete channels onto a single fiber pair, broadcast facilities and venue operators can overcome fiber scarcity, eliminate expensive dark fiber leases, and maximize transport efficiency for live sports, remote production, and inter-facility links.

Passive Reliability with Protocol Independence

Engineered as purely passive optical devices, 3400CWDM modules operate without active electrical components or power requirements, delivering near-zero failure rates and zero added signal latency. Because they function independently of bit rate or signal format, they seamlessly transport uncompressed 3G/HD/SD-SDI video, MADI audio, Ethernet data, and control telemetry simultaneously. Integrated expansion ports allow system planners to start with a standard 4 or 8-channel footprint and upgrade to 12 or 16 channels as capacity demands grow.

Adaptable Form Factor and System Integration

Designed for versatile field and studio deployment, the 3400CWDM series modules occupy a single slot in the 1RU 3400FR passive frame or can be ordered in a rugged standalone enclosure (+SA). They feature high-grade LC/PC or angled LC/APC optical connectors with integrated protective covers to safeguard fiber ends during transport.
