High-Density X-LINK Fiber Extension
The Evertz 3405FR-XLINK is a specialized, high-density optical conversion platform designed to extend high-capacity X-LINK multi-coaxial cabling runs over long distances via fiber. Occupying just 1RU of rack space, the 3405FR-XLINK accommodates up to 16 Evertz 3405-series dual SFP modules, enabling up to 32 optical-to-electrical or electrical-to-optical signal conversions. This platform overcomes the strict distance and weight limitations of copper X-LINK interconnects in large broadcast facilities, live production trucks, and venue trunks.
Carrier-Grade Zero-Downtime Design
Engineered for continuous broadcast operations, the frame contains zero active electronic components. Active elements—such as SFP optics, primary/secondary power supplies, cooling fans, and frame controllers—are completely hot-swappable from the front or rear. This ensures that the frame chassis and connected X-LINK multi-coax cables never need to be de-cabled or removed from the equipment rack during maintenance.
Powering & Remote Management
- Flexible Power Options: Operates on dual 12V DC power inputs using 4-pin XLR connectors, powered by individual 3405PSX external AC power bricks or the 1RU 3405PS-6 multi-frame power supply tray (max 40W frame consumption).
- Network Control: Optional single or dual redundant frame controllers enable comprehensive remote monitoring of optical power levels, signal presence, and rate status over SNMP or Evertz VistaLINK PRO.
